What is COVID Reference

COVID Reference is a Medical Textbook about SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19. COVID Reference’s cornerstones are:

  1. Publish regular updates (download the current 6th International Edition, PDF, 510 pages)
  2. Provide daily Top 10 articles

To realize the textbooks and manage the COVID Reference website, none of the parties involved (editors, authors, translators, copy-editors, web designers, web administrators, communication staff, publishing house, etc.) has received any support from third parties.

COVID Reference is free because we want it to be free.

Where do we come from

Our personal background goes back to the early 90ies when we started publishing a yearly updated textbook about HIV and AIDS. Since then, the original German version has been re-edited 25 times (https://www.hivbuch.de, >700 pages), interspersed with several English translations (https://www.hivbook.com).

In 2003 and 2006, we published several editions of http://www.sarsreference.com and http://www.influenzareport.com.

On February 11, 2020, we added a COVID-19 page to our weekly Amedeo Medical Literature Service (https://amedeo.com/medicine/cov.htm).

On March 29, 2020, we published the first edition of COVID Reference (see the Preface to the first edition).

Where will we go

Every day, we present the Top 10 papers of the day.

We will publish updated editions at regular, hopefully bi-monthly intervals.

We will translate COVID Reference into even more languages.

COVID Reference aims at intensifying the information exchange about SARS-CoV-2 and helping to reduce its health impact. We hope to return soon to a more normal way of life. Be part of it!
